Testimonials & Articles - What other said about Fiel and her work.
- by Claire Giblin (Judge for the 2009 Rottler Award Selection Exhibit)
"Fiel Patricio's vertical studies of horizontal line reveal the artist's skilled understanding of collage. The works play with the viewer's imagination by slowly revealing their underlying elements. There is something very elegant produced by transparent color being dragged across the surface. Between these lines we notice marks of brilliant color which we "read" apart from their established routes. Successful strong works."
- by Richard Ressel (Judge for the 2009 Abstract Show - "It's Out There!" - 'And I Dream')
"The background has the look of a layered stratification, combined with the earthy colors, it looks like something in the natural world; but the superimposed simple lines and shapes create a real interest. It has a Miro quality without imitating him."
- by Gerald Mead (ArtVoice article "Art Clip, Place & Paste", June 2007)
"... Generally, the simpler approaches are the most successful in this show, such as one of the award-winners, Pennsylvania artist Fiel Patricio's 'An Inner Promenade', with its black-and-white acetate image of trees overlaying handwritten text and flanked by torn paper borders of delicate bright green leaf patterns. It achieves complex illusory effects and intriguing combinations of materials with a modicum of elements."
